We made it to Carterville!

I survived the first leg of my trip. It took 10 1/2 hours which included three stops but was pretty much uneventful. Eli watched a couple of movies and entertained himself by pretending he was a dinosaur. While at a McDonald's in Lonoke, Arkansas, we were entertained by two bums arguing over who was the baby's daddy. Eli kept asking me why they were yelling and I was not sure what to say so I just avoided the question. When we got back in the car, Eli told me he was so full from his chicken and that it was making him "grow out of my underwear." He is too funny. Eli is having a blast playing with his cousins. The weather is much more pleasant than in Texas, the kids can actually play outside without melting. We will be here until Friday morning and then we will head to Ohio. Check back for more news.

Road Trip

Tomorrow Eli and I are heading out for a two week adventure. We are making our first stop in Carterville, IL for a 6 night stay at motel Mitchell. :) Eli is really looking forward to playing with his cousins, Annie and Grace. Then we are headed to Canton, OH to visit my Mom's side of the family. We will be spending the 4th of July on Lake Mohawk and can't wait. The car is ready to go and I have about 100 movies to try and keep Eli occupied during the long drive. Micah is flying to Ohio to meet us for the 4th. Wish me luck on my big adventure with Eli.

What is the hype about blogging?

It is 10:45 pm, Eli has been asleep for a couple hours, Micah is partying in New Orleans and I can not sleep. I have browsed the internet and really did not find anything too exciting. I read my friends blog today and I have decided to try the blog thing out. I understand the writing part of blogging but I can not seem to figure out how to make my page look good...let the sleepless nights begin as I begin a new obsession. :)
